Today, KKR raises a record $1.3 Billion for their new Global Impact Fund, the largest of its kind. The fund is focused on investment opportunities in companies whose core business models provide commercial solutions to an environmental or social challenge.
The private-equity firm is investing $130 million of their own money into the fund. The fund is being backed by pensions, family offices, institutional investors and high-net-worth individuals, KKR said Wednesday in a statement announcing the close of capital raising.
