On Wednesday, June 9, Natura & Co (NTCO3.SA), the parent company of Avon, announced that a “cyber incident” partially hit Avon operations the previous day, June 8. “Avon is assessing the extent of this incident and working diligently to mitigate its effects, making every effort to normalize its operations, “Natura & Co said in a securities filing without elaborating.”
Avon distributors reported problems trying to access the company’s backend, where new product orders are usually made. Distributors reported problems in the UK, Argentina, Brazil, Poland, and Romania. Avon shut down the sites in these countries while the company attempted to resolve the issue.
