Bodyport Raises $11.2 Million for Virtual Cardiac Clinic

Bodyport, a digital health company focused on biomarker detection and monitoring of heart disease, announced the close of an $11.2 million Series A investment round. Boehringer Ingelheim Venture Fund (BIVF) led the round, joined by previous investors Playground Global and Initialized Capital, among others. To build out their virtual cardiac clinic, Bodyport has now raised a total of $15.8 million in funding over four rounds. 

Founders Cory Centen and Sarah Smith based their business model around the Bodyport Scale. The advanced hardware detects cardiac signals and biomarkers through a user’s feet, feeding algorithms that can predict heart health risks. Hence, the Scale brings advanced monitoring techniques into the home, without necessitating cumbersome chest-worn monitors.
