U.S. house prices up 5.4% from last year

U.S. house prices rose 5.4% from the second quarter of 2019 to the second quarter of 2020, according to the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) House Price Index (HPI). The numbers for the second quarter HPI report were announced via an August 25 FHFA press release. Home prices rose by 0.8% in the second quarter of 2019. The FHFA's seasonally adjusted monthly index for June went up by 0.9% from May.
