The restaurant industry has been one of the hardest hit by COVID-19. Restaurants like P.F. Chang's China Bistro, Inc., already struggling before the pandemic, used employee layoffs to counter financial losses due to reduced business.
And those layoffs continue to pile.
The Department of Labor requires companies to give advance notice to employees when expecting large layoffs. P.F. Chang's has filed several of these Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notifications in the past two weeks.
The Louisville and Lexington, KY locations plan to lay off 75 employees, according to Spectrum News 1. In Ohio, 299 employees will be affected. And the Myrtle Beach, SC location plans to lay off 75 employees, while statewide 225 P.F. Chang's employees will likely be affected.
