Quarterly Report: Tariffs and International Trade Agreements, 3rd Quarter 2020

The 3rd quarter tariffs of 2020 affected imports of including aluminum, alcohol, chemicals and tech services. As economies look to reopen with caution, thousands of U.S. companies have sued the Trump Administration over tariffs imposed on Chinese goods. 

The U.S. government is looking to regulate foreign tech companies’ influence in the U.S. market after some privacy concerns came to light. The U.S. Commerce Department said that exports to certain computer chip manufacturing companies will require a license for specific products. 

The World Trade Organization recently stated that the U.S. Trade War with China is illegal. The tariffs imposed on Chinese goods broke international trading rules, WTO said.
