Hudson Yards Event Venue Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

Hudson Mercantile, the iconic event space in Manhattan's Hudson Yards, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The company faced financial challenges brought by pandemic-related restrictions on large gatherings, which have diminished the need for event venues.

Founded in 2008, the Hudson Mercantile is considered a preeminent event spot in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. The venue consists of three spaces: a gallery, a studio, and a roof. In the past, the Hudson Mercantile was used to host large private events such as parties, weddings, and product launches. The event space has also been used for New York fashion shows and parts of New York Comic Con.
