130-Year-Old Tableware Company, Lenox, Bought by PE Firm

Tableware manufacturing company, Lenox, now has new owners. On Monday, October 19, private equity firm, Centre Lane, announced that they bought the company. This deal allows the PE firm to not just own Lenox, but also their subsidiaries, Dansk and Reed & Barton. Centre Lane takes over ownership from Clarion Company Partnerships, which has owned Lenox since 2009.

In a statement to the press, CEO Mads Ryder said Lenox is "delighted" about the purchase. “We have spent the last 18 to 24 months shaping our operational platform for growth," Ryder said. "We have invested in branding and strengthened our e-commerce capabilities, and with the support of Centre Lane, we are looking forward to building on the vision that has made Lenox so unique since its founding in 1889.”
