NRA Files for Bankruptcy, Plans to Leave New York

The National Rifle Association declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy on January 15, 2020 in the Northern District of Texas. The NRA plans to leave its current home in New York, and instead centralize in Texas. These actions followed a recent lawsuit for supposed fraud against the NRA by New York’s Attorney General Letitia James.

The NRA is the nation's most powerful gun rights advocacy group. As a result, the organization has been in the center of various Second Amendment controversies.
