Fascinating Insight into RadioShack Bankruptcy


Ken McKay was a RadioShack associate, assistant manager, and manager of several locations in the late 1990s to early 2000s. McKay offers a particular insight into the internal struggles of RadioShack that the average customer would be unlikely to know. And, although RadioShack first went bankrupt in 2015, McKay still had a firsthand view early on of why its decline occurred. While McKay had worked, he'd seen good; talented people leave for better opportunities, and, as a result, RadioShack stores would struggle to find replacements. That, coupled with high prices and low motivation, lead to a steady decline in store and staff quality. RadioShack lacked balance. While a few RadioShack stores remain, their volume is tiny.
