Lebanon’s Economic Crisis Worsens as Tension With Gulf Nations Escalate

The crisis between Lebanon and the Gulf countries has hurt its economy, which is already in poor shape.

In an interview a few weeks ago, Lebanese Minister of Information George Qardahi described the ongoing conflict in Yemen as "absurd and must stop."

Furthermore, he said that Houthis were residents and defending their country.

Reaction to economic deals

Irked at the remarks, Saudi Arabia summoned its ambassador in Lebanon and asked the Lebanese ambassador to the Kingdom to leave the country within 48 hours.

Saudi Arabia also suspended the import of Lebanese goods into the Kingdom.
