Teraco Data Set To Get New Owners After Berkshire and Permira Exit

Global investment firms Berkshire Partners and Permira announced their intention to sell their majority stake in Teraco Data. Currently, Berkshire Partners and Permira are the majority shareholders in Teraco; Africa’s largest carrier-neutral data centre and interconnection services provider since 2015. Along with them, South Africa-based van Rooyen Group also has a stake in Teraco.

Following their divestment, Digital Realty (NYSE: DLR) will buy a majority stake in Teraco Data. Digital Realty provides services such as cloud and carrier-neutral data centers, colocation, and interconnection solutions. Additionally, Berkshire Partners, Permira, as well as the van Rooyen Group will retain minority equity interests in Teraco post the deal.
