Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM), the Antitrust watchdog based in the Netherlands, reported that Apple Inc is accepting different payment forms for Dutch dating apps. Currently, this ends a disagreement between them. Because of this disagreement, Apple were penalized $52.65 million.
ACM said that Apple will fulfill a requirement set by European Union and Dutch competition rules.
“In the digital economy, powerful companies have a special responsibility to keep the market fair and open. Apple avoided that responsibility and abused its dominant position vis-a-vis dating-app providers,” commented Martin Snoep, chairman of the ACM.
