Peru Slashes Its Economic Growth in 2022

Peru’s Central bank (Banco Central De Reserva Del) has predicted that the country's fiscal growth will dwindle in 2022. This year, it dropped from 3.4% to 3.1%. The following year, Peru looks for its economy to increase by 3.2%

Julio Velarde, the Central Bank’s President, pointed to the mining protests and the Russia and Ukraine war as reasons for slashing economic growth. 

Peru and Mining 

Back in 2016, Las Bambas purchased the land from the communities of Fuerabamba and Huancuire. Following that, they built a mine. La Bambas is known for its continuous “social conflicts.”
