In an effort to avoid bankruptcy, Sequential Brands Group may sell back some of its best-known brands. Among the more notable are Jessica Simpson and Gaiam. It hopes to earn enough from these sales to stay afloat.
Like many retailers, the company has struggled since the beginning of the pandemic. The closure of stores dealt a blow to its business, despite an uptick in the athletic lines it sells under Gaiam, And1, Avia, and SPRI.
In the hopes of paying off some of its amounted debt, Sequential Brands sold one brands, plans to return another, and is considering what options are best for moving forward with its remaining lines.
