
Amazon.com, Inc. publicized its second-quarter financial results on Thursday, 29 July. With a net sale of $113 billion, Amazon marks the third consecutive quarter to cross $100 billion. The quarter marks an approximate $20 billion increase from Q2, 2020. But the net sales could not reach the Wall Street consensus estimate of $115 billion marking a fall in analyst expectations. However, compared to the pre-pandemic growth rate of 21%, the compounded annual growth rate currently holds a strong 25% to 30% range.
The operating income and net income increased to $7.7 billion and $7.8 billion during the second quarter respectively. Operating cash flow rose to $59.3 billion, up 16% for the past 12 months compared to $51.2 billion for the trailing 12 months ended June 30, 2020.
