Amid the Covid rush for the next wave, pharmaceuticals are on a quest to find more medicative loopholes against Coronavirus. Earlier this week, Pfizer Inc and Merck & Co Inc had announced their new Covid pill. Both are awaiting the go-ahead. The news on developing a new Covid tablet by Pfizer, called Paxlovid, came in a day later.
Pfizer has claimed that this new pill will reduce Covid-based deaths and hospitalization by 89%. The results came in after a crucial trial. However, this did surpass the former's drug, molnupiravir - the efficacy of which could have half the effects of the chronic development of the virus.
