UK's two popular ride-hailing apps have made changes to their cab fare systems. While Uber has increased its fares by 10%, Bolt plans to offer its drivers the option of charging their own fares.
Uber is a US-based ride-hailing company founded in 2009 by Garret Camp and Travis Kalanick. It was launched in 2012 in the UK, and it now has over 70 000 drivers in the country. Bolt is owned by Marcus Villig a native Estonian. It operates in 45 countries and is valued at over $4.5 billion. It is a transport network company whose other services include scooter sharing and food delivery.
