2020 was a tough time for retail stores, but Neiman Marcus had an added, interesting demographic to settle: class. Sam Lewis (renamed to remain anonymous) worked at Neiman Marcus for twenty years in California in a very wealthy neighborhood. Neiman Marcus is high-end, far different from the average Macy's or Target. It caters to people with high expectations and the money to spend to buy such quality products.

The Problem

As time went on, Neiman Marcus began cutting corners and sought to widen the demographic.

Lewis explained, "customers wanted exclusive merchandise, remodeled stores, exclusive stores... the low grade [products] lost customers and got away from the demographics."
