AstraZeneca to Acquire Biotechnology Firm TeneoTwo for $1.27 Billion

AstraZeneca (LON:AZN) is to acquire the biotechnology firm TeneoTwo Inc in a deal worth up to $1.27 Billion. It has signed the agreement including the phase 1 clinical stage CD19/CD3 T-cell engager, TNB-486. Therefore, they are currently under evaluation in relapse and refractory B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

AstraZeneca will buy all the outstanding equity of TeneoTwo in return for an upfront payment of $100mn.

Diversification of AstraZeneca

AstraZeneca has successfully built the Calquence (acalabrutinib)- it is a medication useful to treat various types of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. It may be used in both relapsed and in treatment-naïve settings. Thus, TNB-486 will diversify the AstraZeneca’s Hematology Pipeline that includes the various modalities and mechanic of blood cancers.
