BlackRock Inc. (NYSE: BLK) became the first public asset manager to hit $10.01 trillion in assets. The company crossed the milestone due to a surge in Q4 of 2021 inflows into its exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
In a statement, BlackRock Inc. said the Investors poured $104 billion into its ETFs between October and December 2021. The total net inflows stood at $540 billion during the year.
This reflected 6% organic asset growth and 11% organic base fee growth, led by record flows in ETFs and active strategies. Of this, $306 billion came from ETFs, $102 billion from retail investor flow and $51 billion from institutional investors.
Institutional Investors
BlackRock’s institutional investor alternatives business oversaw $146.38 billion in 2021 as against $127.42 billion in 2020.
