Omicron, a new form of the virus that has already impacted nearly 100 countries, has arrived before 2022. It has hit all sectors hard, especially unemployment.
Omicron is a variant of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. The WHO reported the dangers of Omicron in November. Also, because of the Omicron's increase, many countries have restriction laws. It will make the wave of bankruptcy in the world and unemployment trend.
Unemployment Rises
The unemployment rate was 5.4% in the US in July 2021. It was 3.5% in February 2020 during pre-pandemic days, according to a CRS report entitled "Unemployment Rates During the COVID-19".
