Biden Administration Considering Lifting Tariffs on China

US President Joe Biden is planning to remove high tariffs on products that former president Donald Trump placed on China. This is being considered a solution to reducing the rising inflation in the US. 

Biden’s Plans

Specifically, the Biden government is looking to lift bans on items like “household goods, bicycles, etc.” Apart from this, steel and aluminum will remain taxed to safeguard the steel business. 

“We are looking at it. In fact, the President has asked us on his team to analyze that. We are in the process of doing that for him, and he will have to make that decision,” US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo told CNN last Sunday.
