CDC Group Surpasses Commitments With $2.2 Billion Investments In Africa

UK-based CDC Group invested $2.2 billion across Africa in 2020 and 2021. This $2.2 billion investment has exceeded the Group's $2 billion commitment made in 2020.

The CDC Group is a development finance institution (DFI) that focuses on South Asia and Africa. Moreover, the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) of the UK government is the sole owner of the CDC Group.

The DFI aims to address global development challenges as well as UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. It does this by investing flexible capital to support private sector growth and innovation. The group's dual objectives are: to achieve growth and jobs; and to make a financial return that it reinvests also helps meet these challenges.
